What Is HDTV?

1. Definitions

You, the Customer a person or company buying Products from us.
Consumer a private person buying Products for private use.
Teleland (us, the supplier) the Product vendor as identified on your invoice and, where relevant, Service Provider.
Product televisions, accessories and peripherals purchased from us.

2. Quotations/Orders/Contract

All products sold are of a technical nature and we are sometimes unable to give full specifications of all products. All images, descriptive matter, specifications in our advertisements, relayed by telephone and on the Internet are for the sole purpose of giving an approximate description. Full details of specifications are available from manufacturer's brochures or their websites. For this reason please do not rely on the products description or specifications as it may not be entirely correct. Do not assume a product is a particular model by the specifications given. All model numbers shown are correct and if in doubt of any specifications then please contact us prior to placing an order.

If due to an error or omission the price published for the goods on our website is wrong we have the right to terminate an order. Should such an error occur we would inform you of the revised price and give you an opportunity to cancel the order. We reserve the right to refuse any orders listed at the incorrect price. If your credit/debit card has been charged and we subsequently cancel your order, we will issue a refund to your credit/debit card.

3. Price & Payment Terms

Prices quoted by us are normally exclusive of carriage, delivery, packaging and insurance. Delivery costs are added during checkout and vary depending on the product and quantity purchased. Full payment must be received prior to despatch, we will begin processing your order once cleared funds have been received.

4. Availability

All products and services are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. If the goods are not supplied as specified within a reasonable period of time, we may offer a similar product or will refund you if the transaction is cancelled. We shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges, or any expenses caused by any delay in the delivery of the goods.

While all care is taken to ensure appropriate stock levels, all products and services are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at anytime without prior notice. If we do not supply the goods for any reason you will be notified and if we have taken payment, will be refunded in full.

5. Delivery


The delivery period stated is approximate. Orders are normally despatched within 3 - 5 working days. The place of delivery is stated in the Order Confirmation. We are entitled to deliver orders in instalments in the event that certain products are out of stock, although this is a rare case.

Delivery rates apply for orders within the UK, excluding Northern Ireland and UK Isles which attracts a £15 surcharge.

When signing for delivered goods you must be satisfied that the goods have arrived in undamaged condition, if this is impractical the delivery note must be signed for as "unchecked", otherwise transit insurance would be void and the customer would be responsible for repair costs. When you receive your order you must inspect it for any defects or non-conformity and inform us within 3 working days.

After this period the goods are conclusively deemed as accepted. If Teleland agrees to the return of your order at its choosing an RMA number must be obtained, the product must be in its original condition with packaging, a return note and proof of purchase; the return costs may also be payable by you.

We will endeavour to deliver goods within the times stated but goods are subject to availability and delay in delivery of goods is sometimes out of our control. All delivery dates are quoted in good faith. In the event that delivery cannot be made we will contact you to discuss alternative arrangements. You have the right to withdraw from the contract at this stage.

We reserve the right to charge for failed deliveries. If goods are returned to us due to no one being available to sign for them, you will be refunded less the delivery charge and an admin fee of £25. If an agreement is made to re-deliver the Product, you will be charged for re-delivery and an admin fee of £25.

6. Warranty

All brand new LCD and Plasma TVs come with a minimum of 1 year's on-site warranty direct with the manufacturer. The warranty period depends on the manufacturer and commences from the date of delivery. During the manufacturer's warranty, you cannot return any faulty goods to us, they must be returned to the relevant manufacturer. In the unlikely event that your Product develops a fault please contact the manufacture directly. Please note it may take up to 4 weeks for repairs to be undertaken, depending on the manufacturer and the complexity of the problem. After the warranty period has expired with the manufacturer, the remaining period of the 5 years warranty are covered directly with Teleland.

The purchaser must ensure the environmental and power supply conditions are suitable for the equipment and that the equipment is cared for and maintained in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and instructions.

Please be aware that LCD panels are manufactured with a remarkably high level of precision technology. As such the manufacturer cannot guarantee and the buyer needs to be aware that sometimes parts of the screen may have missing or coloured pixels, also known as ‘dead pixels'. This is not considered a malfunction with the LCD panel; however manufacturers have a tolerance level as to the level of failed pixels where they may consider taking the unit back as faulty for refund/exchange. We suggest contacting the manufacturer regarding the tolerance levels on their products.

All products that are returned and are found to be working to the manufacturer's specifications will be subject to carriage and inspection surcharges. Any returned goods refused to be accepted back by the customer will also incur direct costs at a minimum 15% of the invoice price plus an administration fee for processing.

Exclusions

Misuse, neglect or accidental damage.

Breakdowns or failures arising from any external influences such as misuse, neglect, excessive wear to the equipment and other external influences such as, but not limited to, poor environmental conditions, electrical power surges, power failure and the use of incompatible or uncertified accessories.

The replacement of any parts classed as consumables, such as CDs, DVDs, magnetic media of any type and batteries.

Any consequential loss or liability of any kind to the purchaser caused by any decisions or actions made during or after the period when the services were delivered.

7. Force Majeure

Teleland is not liable for delays in performance (incl. delivery or Service) caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control; examples include strikes, terrorist acts, war, supplier / transport / production problems, exchange fluctuations, governmental or regulatory action and natural disasters. If this lasts more than 2 months, this Agreement may be terminated by either party without compensation.

8. Data Protection

Your data will be held and/or transferred in strict accordance with the applicable data protection laws. Your details will not be transferred to third-parties.

9. Returns/Cancelling Your Order

The regulations impose a responsibility on the consumer to take reasonable care of any goods that have been supplied. The obligation applies before as well as after the consumer has given the notice of cancellation.

If you purchased your goods over our website or via the telephone and you are a consumer (not a business, sole trader or organisation), you have the right to cancel your order with us in accordance with The Distance Selling Regulations 2000. The period in which you can exercise that right is 7 days from the date of delivery. Please note the Distance Selling Regulation do not apply to a business or organisation and if the goods were not stock items and were bought in specially for you, you cannot return them.

In line with the Distance Selling Regulations 2000 you are required to send a notice of cancellation in writing or another durable medium, including fax or e-mail within 7 working days from receipt. Please state your customer account number, order number and reason for cancellation of the goods. A telephone call is not enough to constitute a cancellation.

If under the 7 working days “cooling off period” you wish to have the goods returned, we can offer collection for the return of the goods at cost to you; alternatively you can arrange your own method of returning the goods to Teleland. Please be aware if arranging your own return that you will need to take out adequate insurance on the goods should they be damaged in transit.

You can return most items as long as they're ‘as new', which means unused, undamaged and complete with all parts and accessories. If you've opened the box to examine the product it must have been done without damaging the packaging or the product in anyway and must be repackaged as received. We cannot offer a refund if a manufacturer's seal has been broken.

Used products will not be refunded and will be sent back to the customer after a re-delivery and admin fee have been made payable to Teleland. This applies to goods returned without their original packaging or incomplete. Goods that have not been cancelled within the 7 days “cooling off period” will be refused.

If an order is entitled to a refund within the “cooling off period”, you will be refunded the value of your order less carriage and any card/finance charges within 30 days of us receiving your goods.

If you have not yet received your order and want to cancel your purchase you must inform us by writing at least 1 working day before delivery. If you do not cancel your order within this time period and the order has already been despatched then delivery charges will not be refunded. Cancellation of orders will be refunded the value of the order less any card/finance charges, usually 3.5%.

10. Jurisdiction

English law and the exclusive court jurisdiction of the English courts will apply to this Agreement.

11. Miscellaneous

We may subcontract, assign or transfer our obligations or rights to a competent third party whether in whole or in part. You may not assign or transfer any of your obligations. All notices must be in writing (by hand, email, fax or 1st class post deemed delivered 48 hours after posting) and sent to a representative of either party.
